Brody McMullen started on the bump for the Titans and earned the win. He pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 8 Valley Vista batters. John Olsen, Chase Garland, and Trent Van Winkel closed out the game in relief as they combined to give up one earned run while striking out three.
Offensively, the West bat pounded out 10 hits, while plating 19 runners. Carter Lesh and Brody McMullen each collected two hits to lead the way. Lesh, Colin Kronenberg, and Jaebin Sotelo doubled for the Titans. Jeremiah Pinkerton added a triple. McMullen (2), Lesh (2), Mathew Luke (2), and Kronenberg (4) were the key RBI contributors for West Salem.
The win was West Salem’s first of the year. Their overall record sits at 1-2. They look to build on that momentum tomorrow as they face Green Mountain from Colorado at Millennium High School in Goodyear, AZ.
