West Salem fell to the Jesuit Crusaders in the 1st round of the OSAA playoffs 6-3 on Monday, May 25th.  The Titans didn't go down without a fight, but in the end Jesuit took advantage of too many West Salem walks and errors.  West ends the season with an 18-10 overall record (11-5 in league).

The first round of the 2015 OSAA playoffs begin on Monday, May 25.  West Salem will travel north to take on Jesuit.  The game will begin at 5:00 PM.  Hope to see all of our awesome Titan fans there! 

Notes and info on the game:

• West Salem enters the game as the underdog.  The Titans are ranked #17 in the state and Jesuit is ranked #16.
• West Salem finished the regular season as the 3 seed in the GVC at 11-5 (18-9 overall).  
• Jesuit ended their regular season as the 4 seed in the Metro League at 11-6 (17-9 overall).
  
• West already played at Jesuit this year in a jamboree, but did not face the Crusaders.  They played West Linn and Lincoln.
• The last meeting between West Salem and Jesuit took place in the 2nd round of the 2013 playoffs.  The game was originally scheduled to be played at West but due to rain was moved to Western Oregon.  The Titans won the game 3-1.

If you can't make the game, Monday's contest will have a live feed broadcast via Jesuit's video network on YouTube. On May 20, 2015 we celebrated our senior class of 2015.  Prior to the game vs. Corvallis our six seniors and their parents took the field to be honored.  In a very cool moment, the dads all threw out a ceremonial first pitch to their sons (video below).  The game itself was also a success as the Titans defeated the Spartans 11-2.

Our six 2015 seniors are: Jacob Shorb, Grant Davenport, Tanner Rousseau, Campbell Cody, Jordan Arritola, and Spencer DesBiens.

Friday, May 15th marked the end of great 2015 seasons for both the Freshman and JV teams.  Both teams were able to pick up wins in their final games vs. West Albany, contributing to the program-wide sweep (Varsity also defeated West Albany on Friday).  Overall, the Frosh team finished with a 12-7 record, while JV notched a 15-6 record (13-2 in league).  Congrats on great seasons by both squads!

West Salem Baseball has scheduled a non-league game vs. Corvallis on May 20th at 4:30PM.  There are a couple items to note about this game:

1. This is an Endowment Game.  For fans this means that there will be an entry fee of $6 for adults and $4 for students.  To read more about why there is a ticket charge anything else about Endowment Games click HERE.
2. Most importantly, this is the game in which we will honor our six seniors.  We will recognize these fine young men and their families prior to the game's first pitch.
