The Titans on to the Quarterfinals After 8-4 Win Over Tualatin

Solid pitching, strong defense, and clutch hitting were again the keys in West Salem's second round playoff victory.  The Titans struck first with a run in the bottom half of the 1st but the Timberwolves answered immediately with a solo home run in the top of the second.  Following a run in each of the 3rd and 5th innings, Tualatin held a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th inning when West's bats came to life.  Within what seemed like moments West turned a 3-1 deficit into a 6-3 lead.  Tualatin was able to scratch another run across in the 6th but the Titans answered right back with 2 in the bottom half of the inning.  

Noor Dhote was a bulldog on the mound for West, going 4 2/3 innings while keeping Tualatin's batters off-balance and  eliminating big innings by working out of tight situations.  Cameron Hagan came in to shut the door by getting the final seven outs of the game.  The Titans used timely hitting, productive at-bats, and a few fortunate bounces take advantage of Tualatin's tiring starting pitcher.  As was the case in round 1, the Titans saw production up and down the lineup with every hitter contributing in some form or fashion.

With the win the Titans advance to the quarterfinals of the OSAA state playoffs where they will play host to West Albany.  The game will be at West Salem High School on Friday, May 25th at 5:00 PM.
