Game Rundown:
Hector Amador started on the hill for the Titans and certainly pitched well enough for the win, yielding only 2 earned runs over four innings. For most of the game it seemed like Amador would notch his first victory of the season. West Salem led South Medford 5-2 heading into the 7th inning, with the game seemingly in hand. However, in the top of the 7th South Medford tied the game 5-5, taking advantage of timely hitting and too many Titan mistakes in the field. With the game tied after 7, the two teams marched into extra innings. South Medford struck quickly in extras, scoring two in the top of the 8th. West was unable to answer in the bottom of the inning and that was that. Within the span of 2 innings West was outscored 5-0 and dropped their first game of the year.
Inside the numbers: This was West's second extra inning game of the year. Even though the game was played at Scio High School, West was the home team. South Medford outhit West 16 to 6. This was a double header for South Medford, as they lost to South Salem prior to their match-up with West
